MACBETH Footwear Studio Project Spring 2009
A San Diego native. Thomas Delonge picked up the guitar and a carne asada burrito at thirteen and hasn’t put either down since. Using his talent for creating catchy Pop-Punk anthems, he quickly rose to the top of the charts, selling 25 million albums with the Band Blink182. In 2006, Tom left Blik182 and then side-project Box Car Racer, to focus completely on his current Band, Angels & Airwaves.
For his Spring 2009 Studio Project, Tom dedicated on classic, low profile, vulcanized sneaker. He kept the details simple and added contrasting orange stitching with black suede and canvas material combinations. Tom then added “TOM” surrounded by graphics on the tongue and insole that were created to represent his infatuation with anything relating to outer space. We labelled this style “The Matthew” his middle name and elected nickname during childhood.
